Supporting our unsung Carers. Are you a hidden carer?

Many people right here in East Riding provide unpaid care for family, friends, or neighbours with disabilities or mental health challenges. These carers are the backbone of our community, and the work they do is invaluable.

Caring can be immensely rewarding, but we know it can also be incredibly challenging and isolating.

That's why the Lib Dems strongly back the essential work of the Carers Support Service. They are there for you, offering personalised advice and support on:

📌 Your rights as a carer
📌 Carer’s assessments
📌 Local services and benefits
📌 Support groups and resources

When you register with the service, you'll receive a quarterly newsletter and access to vital advice and community support.

Please reach out and get the support you deserve.

A Commitment from our party leader, Sir Ed Davey MP, himself a long-term carer for his son, has made support for carers a central priority.
"As someone who cares for his son, I know first-hand the incredible, often unseen, sacrifices carers make every single day. The Liberal Democrats believe that our carers deserve a fair deal. That's why we have consistently campaigned to end the postcode lottery of care, guarantee all unpaid carers the right to an annual respite break, and significantly boost Carer’s Allowance. We will put carers at the heart of our plan for the NHS and social care."
